Streets, façades, yards. Light that survives the winter.

Bracket-mounted street lights for roads and grounds, floodlights for car parks and loading docks, façade and garden lighting, SIP fittings, solar luminaires for places without cable — with the right IP rating, housing and power supply.

What matters

Outdoors, it comes down to water, frost and the housing.

The second IP digit is protection against water: IP44 is enough under a canopy, IP65 for everything that gets wet, IP67 for in-ground luminaires in puddles and snow. The housing is die-cast aluminium with powder coating: it does not rust and it dissipates heat. Operating temperature — from −30 °C.

Yards and car parks lit at full brightness every evening are more reliably powered from the mains: cable in corrugated HDPE conduit at a depth of 0.7 m, a circuit breaker and a 30 mA RCD. Solar luminaires are for paths and places without wiring.

  • Yard, parking for 2–3 cars 3,000–5,000 lm
  • Driveway, street 6,000–12,000 lm per pole
  • Façade 600–1,500 lm per luminaire
  • Colour temperature 4000 K for streets, 3000 K for gardens and terraces

Questions

About outdoor lighting.

What IP rating is needed outdoors?
IP44 — under a canopy, IP65 — for everything that gets wet (façades, floodlights, street lights), IP67 — for in-ground luminaires, IP68 — for ponds.
Solar or mains-powered street light?
Solar — for paths, gazebos and country cottages without wiring; in winter they shine less brightly. A driveway and a car park that must be lit at full brightness every evening are more reliably powered from the mains.
Which colour temperature should I choose?
For streets — 4000 K: white enough for security, without a cold, glaring tint. For gardens and terraces — 3000 K.
